Job Description:

To provide leadership and direction to a council of business unit Quality Managers from North & South American locations in the pursuit of uniformity of QMS elements and infrastructures. To organize and coordinate regular meetings, tele-conferences, video-conferences and intranet activities to promote a sound and effective networking platform in the Americas. To formulate general policies relating to the “traditional” Quality issues of non-conformance, corrective action, inspection, calibration, auditing, records, etc within a variety of business unit types in order to portray a single Client way of doing business (particularly to Suppliers and Customers).



To develop a clear understanding of the (Total Quality) management principles underlying the new ISO 9000/1/4 (2000) Standards amongst the council members, and create a robust networking framework to ensure efficient re-certification of business units to the new standard. To work closely with the Six Sigma and other business improvement teams, and thereby ensure that specific Quality policies and strategies are creatively developed and firmly established to make “Continual Improvement” an integral part of the QMS.



As part of a team, train, mentor and support the continuous improvement process and certification of Black Belt, Green Belt, and Yellow Belt candidates across the Client organization. To drive each member of the council to utilize all available “Prevention” techniques and resources to reduce internal and external failure costs. To create and establish the necessary metrics to track internal and external COPQ. To establish and maintain a standardized supplier certification process. To promote the training of the individual council members and their staff in all elements of Continuous Improvement. To participate actively in Quality events external to Client (conferences, exhibitions, web-based professional activities, etc) to ensure that (a) the name Client is clearly synonymous with Quality, and (b) cutting edge Quality concepts are fed back into Client To organize and execute effective council benchmarking visits and events to identify and encourage the adoption of world-class practices within each business unit.
