Six Sigma Plus projects should have priority and be important to the organization.

Unimportant or trivial projects should never be assigned to a Black Belt. This will only cause the doubters in the organization to dispute the value of the investment made in training Black Belts.

Initial projects should not be of such an urgent nature that the Black Belt and the other people associated with the project will be tempted to shortcut the process, leaping to conclusions and implement perceived solutions prematurely.

On the other hand there should be some sense of urgency to complete the project and realize the benefits. Frequently a time frame of six months is used including the defining of a project and ending with completion.
